avid & death defying

no pretty pictures as of yet. sad, i know. but this will be quick.

it is late and i am tired though i feel the strong need to write. about something. so here i go:

we (the fiber arts club) had a meeting today to go over the constitution. it went well. i made new friends and i am happy.

i didn't get to go to dinner with my boy until wednesday which was probably for the better. we spent the whole after school together.

wednesday during the day i went shopping with my mother to old navy and the mall. i enjoyed our time together. we will do it again soon.

i am so tired and that was so random and i need more people to read my blog or else this is pointless.

night.

@ the desk.

right now i have an hour and ten minutes to spare waiting for a committe meeting to ban smoking on our college campus. not that big of a deal since we are a community college but it may be difficult to pull off.

i'm in the office just playing around (that's why i have the time to be here) and being bored in general. i'm waiting for the boy to call. he left for florida several days ago and finally came home last night (almost this morning i assure). so he will mostlikely be taking me out to dinner to tell me stories, show me pictures and present me with gifts and food. i am overjoyed that i will be receiving dinner food in only a few short hours (and to see my love of course)!

but alas, i have no service on my cell in the office. a pitty i must say. especially since he doesn't know the office number (though i must admit that i barely know it either but it is 1510 if you are interested).

i finished the shrug from classic knits and it is quite nice. it is the first fully knitted and clothed piece i've made for my self and it fits a lot better than i anticipated. at first it didn't look so good but once i threw it in the since to wash and let it air dry in my car (for it was super hot in there) and it fits really nice now. though i tug on it a bit.
i will post pictures shortly.

i am beginning the short-sleeved ribbed lace sweater from vintage knits. i am currently knitting the swatch.

and people are now here and i must run away.

sunflower frames and store credit.

hello! sorry it has been a while. busy busy busy! i figured, i caught up on homework and knitting (though i should be knitting more right now) and the boy, who i've decided to call "c," is leaving for florida in several hours and will be stopping by to say, "i love you."

okay. to catch up. last weekend, c's mother, sister, c himself and i went out to a fabric store to buy fabric for my prom dress which his mother is designing (mostly) and sewing. i'm so excited! afterwards, we went out to this restaurant/food store and c bought me a handful of sunflowers:

sunflower's are my favorite and they are so cheery!

this photo is a bit darker but i like the look. my favorite perfume is actually called "sunflower."

they were my easter gift. he feels the need to constantly get me flowers. and i'm perfectly fine with that.

moving on once again. these past few weeks have been so hectic. between english papers, computer projects, the constitution, the friends, the boy, the fun, and even more studying. makes me want to hang myself.

today, i went to another craft store to return several skeins of yarn that i did not want (a gift) and received store credit. i was shocked actually, i didn't have a receipt. but i got this wonderful yarn (cotton -acrylic blend) in this hazy purple. i'm knitting a lace short sleeve sweater from vintage knits. i'm so excited.

i've been working on this shawl from classic knits a lot recently and i only have one sleeve and the ribbing left. i'm hoping to have pictures up by this weekend. it hasn't been sunny here for day due to the stupid no'easter that happened mid-april? oh well.

not much else. i'm listening to the cast off podcast hosted by brenda dayne. love it! she's so funny and i enjoy her program greatly. i'm just finally catching up. i'm on 35 out of 46! yay!

i think i'm going to run. c will be here within the hour and i'd like to knit some.

have a wonderful evening.

high education & baffled needles

though the title sounds a bit "druggie," i assure you it is not. a long story that will remain long in areas and short in others begins now:

my first class (sociology) was canceled because my professor was having surgery and obviously was not up to the task of coming to class. since its an 8 am class, i didn't mind that i got to sleep in an extra 2 hours. sadly, my brother and mother were making such a commotion this morning about the weather (shorts or pants?) that they woke me up a full half hour before my alarm was set to go off. and for anyone who knows how little sleep i get, they'd understand how distressing it was. needless to say i was a little annoyed and decided it was best to stay clear of these culprits that caused my sleep deprivation ('cause a half hour would have cured it all).

i have breakfast, like usual. oatmeal, half a green bagel (left over from the boy from saint patrick's day) and some chai. yummy! and there i am, reading seventeen magazine (i got a two year subscription when i was seventeen and its just about to fizzle out) trying to catch up on the year i decided not to read the magazines and just hoard them under my bed. when, what to my amazement should appear? but a friend of mine, in the pages of seventeen as a model! strange. though i'm not perfectly sure, for sure, but its her and i know it. strange!

continuing, i get to school a half hour early so i decide to work on my dollar and a half cardigan. i'm almost done the body! i just have to finish the left side panel up front and i can sew them together (after i block of course). though, i must admit that i'm getting a bit bored with it (probably the color) and decided to start on a top secret project. (oh la la! i know.) i go to english where my professor refuses to give back our essays (our last assignment) before our next essay so as not to "clutter our minds." bull. i want my essay so i can improve my writing (and my grade). but i don't bother even talking. i just knit. then statistics which is always joyous (gag!).

i come home, thinking all is well after a couple of "boardwalk" type events on campus. the sun is shining, i just took my sneakers off and put new sandals on. its just spectacular out side and i'm blaring my music in the car and singing and happy (for once its just glorious outside and that makes me feel glorious inside!) but i walk in the door and start talking to my mother and realize i have mail. some stupid papers from school 'cause them and the state and everything keep screwing things up. so i was sad 'cause instead of potentially going out with the boy for a walk down main street or in the local woods or even out for ice cream, i had to sit at home and type papers for my mother. that really only took me about 20 minutes (if that) to type them up and all. i just came back up stairs after sitting with her for almost an hour figuring all the papers out.

ah well. i got to talk to the boy for a bit. almost an hour, though half the time i was either talking to my mother or brother or he was talking to his family. i love the boy and am going to miss him when he goes off to college. really, i have to stop referring to him as "boy," he is quickly becoming a man.

though i got to talk to my best friend last night and that was great fun! "i heart my dumb friends!" that's our new slogan and bumper sticker! good times were had by all really. i miss her terribly but she's coming home this weekend for good friday and easter! she said she might come to the comedy show that my boy is preforming at on saturday night so that will be a TON of fun if she can go! i'm sure he wouldn't mind giving her a ride if she needed it. though, since he helps set the room up and all that fun stuff, we're there almost two hours before the doors open. though she loves me, i don't think she loves me that much.

in the knitting world, i've only got a bit knit here and there but that adds up faster than i thought. i finished the back and right front in the dollar and a half cardigan from the newest issue of interweave knits. good fun. though, like i said, i'm getting a bit bored of the same old project and decided to start working on a top secret one. i really can't reveal what it is for a while but i'll show random pictures.

i took some nice
pictures today which i'll post in the next couple days (maybe tomorrow). but tonight i'm too lazy to download them.

god! its getting late and i should be in bed. i've been up much longer than twelve hours and i have to wake up at 5:30 for an 8 am class. though afterwards, my mother and i might meet up at a local shop and have some lunch and talk and do girlly things. god knows we don't do girlly things often. i really should teach her how to knit. i think it would relax her (god knows we're both high strung) and give us something more to talk about instead of college and the "real world."

alright. its late and i'm tired and a bit sad about the day. i'm off to bed.

night.
