sweater lover.

the first day back to classes have occurred! god forbid. not too bad, but it will take me a little bit to get back into the groove of things. i had history and public speaking. my classes were pretty full and not many people i know in class.

moving on. i've been spending a lot of time knitting. i've been on break a long while and my knitting needles have been going. during break, i finished two scarves, two head band things, a single glove, a single leg warmer and i believe that is it.

this past monday (about six days ago) i started a sweater for my boyfriend. he's been asking me one for about two years and i finally got around to it. and here it is (as of yesterday):

i also have been making stitch markers so that i can use and sell them to other knitters. here is on of my favorite ones:

the stitch marker is being used to knit this head band thing for someone who ordered it from me. the yarn is 100% merino wool from canada with shades of pinks and browns:

i believe food will be needed shortly, along with a nice shower and maybe some knitting, talking and homework.

hope you enjoyed my pictures. more will soon be available.

good night.

80 degrees to sweaters.

so. i know, i haven't updated in a little while. but do you blame me? i was in daytona for several days and have been trying to catch up with friends and family before school started all over again.

but let me quickly recap: daytona was amazing!!! i learned a lot and that excites me so much! and i may even be starting a knitting club at my school! score! but while i was in daytona, i began teaching a couple people how to knit:

this is megan:

and they are brittany and caitlin (cait already knows how to crochet):

any way, i had a ton of fun and met some great people!

i went out twice with my best friend and once with my boyfriend when i got back. we all caught up on our lives. what we're doing and what we plan on doing. wonderful really. i

i began knitting the baby cape while i was in daytona and on the plane. finished a scarf that i began before christmas for my mother. i even began by boyfriend's sweater. i started it today and it is such a fast knit! i can't even tell you. in all i must have worked three to four hours and i already have seven inches done.

sorry, i wish i had more to type, but just wanted to update on what i've been up to. i promise, i'll write a better blog soon.

before midnight.

hello again. it is almost wednesday, but i can't sleep. i've been looking at several knitting blogs and websites. i've added a handful of new links to my blog. mainly knitting. i am very excited about some of the blogs. so far i am attempting to join the sexy knitter's club blog. i've put in a request and am now waiting for a reply.

moving on. i talked to both my boyfriend and best friend, they are both wishing me fun and plenty of pleasures on my way to florida. my boyfriend wished me luck with the bermuda triangle. those were his last works. "don't die." he's such the romantic. my best friend and i are planning much fun for when i come home next week. a trip out of town, for food, clothes, shoes, books, tea/coffee and yarn (of course).

here is a picture that i tried to load earlier but was unable to:

the finished project is a tad bit bigger than this. by one "square row." it is a cloth measured by seven blocks by six blocks. i cast off around seven this evening and sewed in the ends. it really doesn't need any blocking, it would be pointless. the texture is amazing though:

i am planning on entering a craft fair with my knitting in october/november at my local high school. people pay good money for hand knit items. and i need gas money and to feel worth while.

i have been on the worst knitting kick ever. it's really disturbing. its almost midnight and i'm still up 'cause i was knitting and looking at knitting web sites. and i probably won't go to be until i finish the middle finger of my glove. here is an inside-out view with no middle finger:

i still have to do the thumb. hopefully, it'll be done before i leave the house tomorrow. if i can, i'll try to post the picture of the finished glove and utility cloth. i must say i had the best time with the utility cloth! it was such a fast knit and so much fun! though i'm not a big fan of the yarn i used, it was a blast and i'll take it to florida with me to clean myself. the yarns a bit rough so i think it'll lather and clean well.

when i get back, i really want to just sit down and knit. i'd love to get a ton of these projects complete before the spring semester is here. but we'll see what i can do.

alright. i will be heading off to bed within the hour. i just want to finish my middle finger.

night.

daytona knits

first, i would like to go over a couple things before i go to the pictures. i really doubt many people read this but i am leaving for florida tomorrow! i am so excited. i just found out i can bring my knitting needles on board. i can knit to the plane, while i wait and on the plane. you can't imagine how happy i am about this! i am bringing this deep red yarn to work on a gift to an old high school teacher of mine who is about to have his first baby, a girl! i'm knitting her a little baby cape that is just the most adorable thing ever. i'm hoping to get a good amount done while i am away for the next five or so days.

next, i was up until five in the morning playing this stupid computer game called myst. i needed a walk through 'cause its the first game i've ever really played on my own. its good fun. and i saved it and everything. too bad i don't know how to retrieve a saved game. and i was almost done too! i only had one or two more levels to go through. damnation! oh well. i'll pick it up again when i get back.

now, seeing as i promised pictures of the little head thing i made my friend, here it is:

not the best picture in the world, but it works. i'm planning on making one for myself in the very near future. sadly, i have so many projects going i don't know when i'll have the time to get to it. my goal is to finish my leg warmers, gloves and my mother's scarf by the end of break and to start, if not finish, the baby cape and my boyfriend's sweater. geez!

for christmas, my mom and i got new cell phones. my mother of course wanted something to put the cell phone in as to not scratch the cell phone when it is in her purse. so here's what i got:

i think it turned out pretty well. its a wool-cotton blend that is just splendid to work with! i picked up two hanks of this color and two others of this orange-pink color. i plan with the remaining to do two things: knit myself a cell phone cover and make socks out of the remaining yarn. it'll be such a pleasure! here's another picture with the cover in action:

moving on. i just sat around in my pjs yesterday and majority of today. so here are some monkeys:

i had more pictures of my gloves and this little hankie/wash cloth i've been working on but was unable to load them on to the page. maybe later this evening. right now, i have to type up a couple pages (including a pattern to take on the flight with me).

good evening.
